California Post Grad Adds Veteran Catcher Ethan Howald for 2025-2026 Season

California Post Grad Baseball is proud to announce the commitment of Ethan Howald, a 2025 graduate and four-year varsity starter from Woodland Christian High School (Woodland, CA). As the lead catcher for a highly competitive program, Howald brings leadership, consistency, and strong defensive tools to the CPG roster.

Standing at 5’10” and 150 lbs, Howald has plenty of room to grow physically, but already makes a major impact behind the plate. He sports a strong 82 MPH arm, with quick feet and a fast release that give him a highly effective pop time. His ability to control the running game and command the field makes him a valuable addition to CPG’s catching corps.

At the plate, Howald is currently hitting .321 with a .558 on-base percentage in his senior season. Over his four-year varsity career, he holds a .272 batting average, highlighted by standout junior (.327) and senior (.321) seasons.

“Ethan is the kind of player every coach wants behind the plate,” said Zack Novis, Head Coach of California Post Grad. “He’s vocal, tough, and manages the game at a high level. He’s already shown leadership in a winning program, and that experience is going to carry over into what we’re building here.”

Casey Dill, Director of Baseball Operations, added, “Ethan has a strong arm and the mental toughness you want in a catcher. He’s been a four-year varsity guy for a reason — he’s consistent, reliable, and has the tools to keep improving. With his work ethic, we’re confident he’ll thrive in our environment and grow into a well-rounded collegiate catcher.”

With a high baseball IQ, proven production, and a strong defensive skillset, Ethan Howald is set to make a big impact at California Post Grad and beyond.
